🎬 I'm super excited to share with you this amazing video by the talented Sarah Millerhouse. She's created a stunning layout for Father's Day that's all about celebrating the favorite dad in her life. And guess what? It's not your traditional masculine layout, but it's bursting with love and creativity. 🎨🖼️
Sarah starts off with a patterned paper from the main kit and fussycuts all around it to create a beautiful border of leaves and flowers. 🌸🍃 She then adheres it to a piece of white cardstock mixed media and cuts out hexagons to build a honeycomb background. 🐝 The edges are distressed using fussycutting as her main technique.
She then adds a splash of color using a bee embellishment from a September kit and orange ink from a Katherine Poole ink set to match the May hip kits. 🍊 She also uses water to blend and pull up some of the ink, creating a splotchy effect. The layout features orange paper and was created to honor her husband as a great dad. 🧡
The layout is not just about being a great dad, but also about the author's love for her son and husband, who both love oranges, yellows, and pinks. 🧡💛💖 She shares photos from a trip to Jamaica where they swam with dolphins. 🐬 She also shows a craft project where they use foam and adhesive to create a layout for their photos, adding hexagons and a title.
Sarah is working on a scrapbook project called the May Project Life Kit. She's adding a title to the layout and using a T-square ruler to ensure the letters are straight. The title is busy and has two shades of green letters. 📏🔠 She also adds some puffy enamel hearts to the layout and adds some detailing with enamel dots. 💚💚
